Now that Alice in Wonderland looks auspicious (check out the last thrilling trailer), Tim Burton has the honor of an exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art, the famous MoMA in New York (November 22, 2009 to April 26, 2010 ). A great website offers many exciting documents (essays, sketches, interviews, etc.) that fill the frustration of not being able to get there. To help promote the retrospective, they asked Burton himself to animate the MoMA logo for a thirty-second video that would be used to promote the exhibition on television, at the Museum, and online. Tim Burton MoMA Spot features a small robot straight escaped from The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy. This quirky little robot character comes to inflate four typically Burton-esque balloons spelling out the MoMA logo. This 30-second film uses stop-motion animation dear to his creator and CG. A very informative making of reveals that every detail was considered with great care and that the artists who contributed to this atypical work were amazed like a child. A new piece full of charm between Vincent and The Nightmare before Christmas characters.
